Towing Setups & Weight Distribution Systems

While fitting up a towbar, there are two options available in the wiring system. They include Universal Wiring and Dedicated Wiring. Universal Wiring is recognized as the standard method of wiring used while getting towbars fitted. This is quite a simple method and allows the lights to function on one’s towed vehicle.
On the other hand, Dedicated Wiring refers to a method that is specifically designed for a particular type of vehicle. This method is designed in such a manner so that it gets fit appropriately and thus integrates with the electrical system of your vehicle.
Now, out of these two options, the kits of Dedicated Wiring for towbars are becoming highly popular due to the presence of numerous added features in new car models.

A totally proportional electric trailer brake control, the new Primus®IQ is self-leveling so no level adjustment is necessary. Utilizing the primary sensor technology from Prodigy®, the Primus®IQ now includes the Boost feature that gives users the ability to apply more initial trailer braking when towing heavier trailers. It works proportionally in reverse for backing into tough spots and includes a snap-in dash mounting clip and removable electrical connector that allows the unit to be quickly stored when not in use. You will appreciate the digital readout depicting a secure electrical connection, amount of voltage delivery to the trailer brakes and diagnostic features incorporated in the LED display.

The unit is able to operate both electric and electric/hydraulic trailer brakes and will operate from either 12V or 24V vehicle systems without the need for manual selection or extra components or wiring. The unit is also ADR compliant when installed as directed. tekonsha primus iq
